My story

Having studied and lived in Berlin, as well as regularly leading and assisting with various visits abroad, I have seen the difference learning a language has made for myself and the students I have taught. I truly believe that learning languages enhances an individual's cultural, historical and linguistic knowledge. Setting up 'Leap Into Languages' for me was

about creating the opportunity for people of all ages to be able to enjoy and appreciate languages, whilst having the ability to express themselves in speech and writing. Fostering a love of learning another language from a young age is key to a child's development; it stimulates and encourages their curiosity in an engaging and fun way. For teenagers & adults, this increases tolerance & knowledge of other religions, traditions and customs, enabling them to communicate in an ever-changing global world. In the long term, this creates a deeper intercultural understanding of other countries, resulting in more confident individuals. Studies have also proven that learning a language has great health benefits; improving your memory, staving off Alzheimers and making your brain smarter by challenging it to recognise and communicate in different language systems. So what are you waiting for, do you need any more amazing reasons to learn a language with me?

Meet Anna

I have a degree in International Management & German from UMIST and studied and lived in Berlin for two years. I'm a fully qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher with over 18 years experience of teaching German, French and Spanish at Secondary level, including teaching the new GCSE & A-level specifications. Over the past five years I have also delivered Spanish & French at Primary level to Year 6, in order to prepare them for essential secondary MFL skills.

Consistently graded as 'Outstanding' in lesson observations over the past eight years, I want to extend my expertise and passion for teaching languages to individuals & small groups. This includes toddlers, primary school pupils, GCSE/A-level students or those just wanting to learn languages for fun!

Hello, my name is Lorena and I am an Italian teacher. I got my Master degree in Classics and Italian literature at University of Udine, where later on I also qualified as a teacher. Currently I am doing a PhD in Roman History at Leeds University. During my studies I have been missing the opportunity to teach again and to be in contact with people interested in my language, in my country and my culture! Learning Italian will be fun and an immersion in my world, speaking about very different topics related to the Italian culture. Don’t miss this opportunity to start this new journey with me; let’s go to the heart of the Italians! - Ti aspetto!

Bonjour one and all! I have a degree in European Studies and French, which involved spending a year studying in the amazing city that is Bordeaux. At that point, aged 20, I fell totally in love with France…the language, the country, the people, and of course the food!

Put simply, I love languages and love sharing my knowledge with others. I’m a fully qualified teacher of modern foreign languages, and believe that my passion and enthusiasm when teaching will help you to learn, embrace and love the language like I do.
